Creating Reports/Sets of Search Criteria for Bills & Proposed Rules

The following describes how to create reports/sets of search criteria for Bills & Proposed Rules, which you may choose to have emailed to you on you on desired schedule and/or have saved for access within Bula.

There are two ways to create and/or schedule Bills & Proposed Rules reports/Sets of Search Criteria:

  1. Via the Bills & Proposed Rules database search page
    1. Click either the blue "New Search" button in the Bills & Proposed Rules box on the dashboard, or "Bills & Proposed Rules" in the top navigation bar
    2. On this page, you may conduct a search
    3. Regardless of what you may or may not have searched, click the green "Set Search Criteria" button to the right of the screen under the filters and search bar. Your previous search criteria will not carry over to the next page
    4.  On the "New Search Criteria" page, enter the specifications and criteria for your report/set of search criteria
    5. Create a name for your report/set of search criteria, choose the schedule on which you want to receive emailed reports (you may also choose not to receive emails and simply save the set of search criteria to be accessed later in Bula), and configure the set of criteria to be included in your report
      1. This criteria includes keywords (Boolean-capable), jurisdictions, type, time-frame,  topics, status and how you want your results sorted
      2. All report/search criteria fields are optional
    6. When you have completed the form, click the blue "Save" button below the search criteria fields

  2. Via the Sets of Search Criteria library, bypassing the Bills & Proposed Rules search page
    1. Select "My Search Criteria for Bill/Proposed Rule Emails" under "Settings" in the top right navigation bar
    2. Click the "Add" button to the right of the page heading ("My Search Criteria for Emails")
    3.  On the "New Search Criteria" page, enter the specifications and criteria for your report/set of search criteria
    4. Create a name for your report/set of search criteria, choose the schedule on which you want to receive emailed reports (you may also choose not to receive emails and simply save the set of search criteria to be accessed later in Bula), and configure the set of criteria to be included in your report
      1. This criteria includes keywords (Boolean-capable), jurisdictions, type, time-frame,  topics, status and how you want your results sorted
      2. All report/search criteria fields are optional
    5. When you have completed the form, click the blue "Save" button below the search criteria fields
